The Austrians contract expires in the summer of 2023, but there aren’t any indications that Leipzig will offer him a new one. Several teams are keeping tabs him as a free agent in the summer; however, Liverpool could afford to acquire the 25-year-old for a mid-season signing early on.
Leimer has appeared in over 160 games for RB Leipzig since debuting in 2014; however, he recently injured his ankle ligament and has rarely appeared this season.
Liverpool are rumored to be preparing for significant investments scheduled for the summer months ahead.
