Journalist makes transfer revelation that appears to be Liverpool first winter signing

Journalist says Jurgen Klopp called Macedonia star privately and told him "he wants him at Liverpool"

Eljif Elmas

A Turkish journalist Ahmet Ercanlar has claimed Jurgen had a private conversation with Napoli and Macedonia midfielder Eljif Elmas and the report has been making rounds.

The Liverpool manager also lauded long-term target Jude Bellingham for his outstanding performance during the World Cup. It is believed despite Klopp's admiration for Bellingham, this winter will come too soon for the Reds boss to make a move for the England international.

However, there is an increase assurance that they'll sign a midfielder in  the coming month of transfer activities.

Sofyan Amrabat is seen as a prime candidate to join Liverpool next month after his attractive performances for Morocco in the World Cup.

Fiorentina are reportedly willing to part ways with the 25-year-old valued at €40million this winter and that would make an easy transfer for the Reds.

However, Klopp could still be looking deeper into the Serie A for a midfielder with Napoli's Eljis Elmas now appearing in advance position if the report from Ahmet Ercanlar is to be believed.

Ercanlar says Elmas' former club Fenerbahce will also get a share from a deal.

He wrote: Ercanlar wrote: "Jurgen Klopp called Eljif Elmas and said he wanted to see him in Liverpool. If this transfer happens, Fenerbahce will also get a share."
