Liverpool face Manchester City in a crucial Premier League tie on Saturday

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola

The Reds return to Premier League action after the international break having managed to take seven points in their last four matches.

Manchester City's struggle with league leaders Arsenal continues, with the Londoners not showing any sign of stopping in their title bid.

Liverpool seemingly have Luis Diaz to welcome back when they travel to the Etihad on Saturday meaning there's been progress in the Colombian's recovery. Should Klopp has all his attacking options fit for Saturday - it means Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez will all be available to fill in the flanks.

However, not all of them can make the starting  line-up should Klopp sticks to his 4-3-3 style, hence, the Liverpool manager "has said" he could resort to a 4CB-2DM-2MFLR-2FW" pattern to accommodate Salah and Nunez on the flank while Gakpo and Firmino/Jota play as centre forwards. The change will also create room for Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho to refill the left and right midfield positions playing alongside J. Henderson and Fab/Bajcetic/ Elliott ... in the middle-half of the pitch.
