With nearly £70 million fee on the table for Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool seems to have put an end to the competition for the World Cup winner.
The current campaign has been a difficult one for the Reds, and Klopp is eager to invest in the upcoming transfer window to launch a title challenge next season.
For that reason the German has communicated to the Anfield leadership his desire for a minimum of three high-quality midfielders during the upcoming summer transfer window, and has identified several potential outgoings, including Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.
The acquisition of Mac Allister will be a sufficient recompense for withdrawing from the competition to secure Jude Bellingham, who was priced at an exorbitant £130m and currently touted with a move to Real Madrid.
