Liverpool maintain interest in Michael Olise amid Bayern future uncertainty

Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on Michael Olise with Bayern Munich yet to provide clarity over the winger’s long-term future

Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a possible future move for Michael Olise, with the Bayern Munich winger’s long-term situation attracting renewed attention following comments from the German club’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen.

Olise has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time, with the club previously reported to have an interest in the France international. The 24-year-old was also linked with several other leading European clubs during the summer, although there was ultimately no formal offer for his services.

Bayern have made it clear that they were not looking to sell Olise during the recent transfer window. Dreesen confirmed that the club did not receive an offer for the winger and stressed that Bayern had no interest in allowing him to leave at that stage. The club regards Olise as an important part of its team.

"This simply was not true," Dreesen told German website SPORT1.

"That is why I said so publicly. It simply was not true. We had no offer on the table. And we always said that we were not interested. That is exactly our position. Olise is extremely important for this team. He is a magician on the pitch."

However, Dreesen was less definitive when asked whether Bayern could guarantee that Olise would remain at the club beyond next summer. He indicated that the player’s long-term future would be discussed again when the time comes, leaving the door open to further speculation about his situation.

He said: "Making promises in this business is a tricky matter. Whether we can keep him permanently is something we will discuss again in the summer."

Liverpool have already strengthened their attack this summer with the arrival of Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola, but the club is expected to continue assessing its options in future windows.

Olise’s profile would naturally make him an attractive option. Since moving from Crystal Palace to Bayern in 2024, the left-footed winger has developed into an important attacking player and produced a highly productive 2025/26 campaign, recording 15 Bundesliga goals and a league-leading 19 assists.
