Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered a hamstring injury during Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday. The nature and extent of the injury were not immediately clear, but scans conducted on Monday indicated that the injury will sideline him for around two weeks.
The injury comes as a blow to the Reds, who are already dealing with the fitness of Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk's red card booking.
Despite the setback, Liverpool fans can take solace in the fact that Alexander-Arnold's injury is not as severe as initially feared. A two-week timeline for recovery means that the full-back could potentially be available for the Reds' next Premier League game against Wolves or the Europa League tie with LASK.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold has come under scrutiny for his defensive weaknesses. The right-back endured another scorching afternoon as Liverpool were beaten 3-3 by Brighton.
The Reds will meet Rangers in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Liverpool and England striker legend Michael Owen saw Alexander-Arnold embarrassed by Napoli in his Champions League opener and his defensive fragility has been highlighted ever since.
"Most teams that play Liverpool see Trent as one of the biggest attacking threats they need to stop. For the same reason, they'll also say their best chance of getting in is with him," Owen said.
"Jordan Henderson has tended to try and cover for him but sometimes Jordan is not playing and that has been a cause for concern in certain games. One of Liverpool's biggest strengths can also be one of their biggest weaknesses.
"(Rangers winger) Ryan Kent will obviously know that. I'm sure he still watches Liverpool and there will be a huge part of him that is fond of the club.
"If you are an opposing manager you are looking for a player to make those out-to-in runs, especially if Trent vacates.
"Liverpool have a lot of the ball at Anfield so Trent is going to be sucked into those advanced positions.
"If Rangers can win it and be brave enough to leave Kent in almost cheating positions, they could counter-attack with a bit of force."

If Trent Alexander-Arnold is not in the World Cup squad, he should retire from England, according to Agbonlahor.
The Liverpool right-back was again not used by Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate in his latest international break fixture, suggesting he is likely to miss the final set of 26 for next month's World Cup tournament.
Agbonlahor told Talksport it would make no sense for Alexander-Arnold to continue his country's call-up under Southgate, before taking his statement about Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier to better all-around Competition as an "insult".
He said: "If I were Trent, I would retire from international duty if I don't get in a World Cup squad. I'd retire until a new manager took charge of England and gave me the opportunity. 100 per cent.
"Because what's the point going away in these international breaks (without playing)? You could stay with your club, rest and prepare yourself for Liverpool. And for Southgate to come out and say Trippier is all-round better than Trent....
"I think that's an insult. I do like Trippier but Trent is an all-round better player than Kieran Trippier. (Kyle) Walker and (Reece) James, for me, are better than Trent but don't say Trippier, come on. Joke's over Gareth.
"It wouldn't surprise me if he did retire. We've seen players in the past retire from England (duty) because they weren't getting the opportunities."
