Liverpool lead Man United in the race to sign £35m rated midfielder

Liverpool are leading the race to Ivorian midfielder Jean Micheal Seri from OG Nice

The 26-year-old who has also be linked with move to Arsenal and Tottenham is compared in quality to Chelsea star N'Golo Kante.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Jurgen Klopp sent scout to watch the Ivorian on their 2-1 win over Lille on Friday night for the Ligue 1 side, and Liverpool are likely to spend from the £142million of Philippe Coutinho sale to land the midfielder this summer

Seri is being considered as a replacement for Emre Can since the German has refused to extend his stay with Liverpool as Juventus are keeping eyes on him.

Manchester United are also monitoring Seri, who is thought to be valued at £35m, but Jose Mourinho has other targets in mind as he seeks to ease the pressure off Paul Pogba

Whereas Barcelona were close to signing Seri last summer after agreeing personal terms with the player but talks broke down after the two clubs couldn't agree on the midfielder's valuation.
