The Reds interest for the 29-year-old playmaker came to prominence few days ago after the midfielder had reportedly rejected a contract extension at Bayern.

Thiago has been one of the numerous midfield players that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admired so much in the past.

And despite the Spaniard fell down Nico Kovac and Hansi Flick's pecking order at Bayern it appears Klopp would find him a great addition to his Liverpool side for next season.

A recent report from Spain has claimed that Liverpool have almost completed a €35m deal for Thiago.

The report from Spain publication SPORT on Friday morning stated that: "an agreement between the player and Liverpool is done, however, the Reds don't want to pay the demanded 35 million euro fee in one go and will look for more imaginative formulas to make the payment if Bayern can't reduce the price."
