Liverpool will rival Premier League corrivals Manchester United for the player according to reports
Manchester United have been a long-term admirer of 21-year-old Upamecano who play as a defender for RB Leipzig.
The Reds have have only expressed a newborn interest on the player following their recent quest to strengthen their back-four.
With Dejan Lovren and Ki-Janna Hoever already gone the Premier League champions are left with few options at the back and that could hamper their chances to retain their crown this term.
Looking at Upamecano, the Frenchman has made impressively, 117 appearances for Leipzig, he penned a new contract with the Red Bulls club three months ago and took his price tag to £55million.
But according to Sport Bild Manchester United and Liverpool interest could still force him out the exit door of Leipzig in the winter.
However, if both English clubs have to wait until next summer they could afford him for just £35m but competition may increase.
