Liverpool suffer Erling Haaland transfer blow

Liverpool have suffered a blow in their pursuit  to land Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland

As reported by the Mirror the Reds will now rival Premier League big spenders Manchester City for the Norwegian striker.

Mirror Sport claim that Haaland, 20, who has been in remarkable form for Dortmund so far this season, scoring 33 goals, has caught Man City's eye with the Citizens making the Norwegian their top target for this summer's window.

The report also stated that City viewed the Dortmund sensation as a direct replacement for Sergio Aguero and as a result are "not actively pursuing" Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

The report added that, in a knock to Liverpool’s chances, City are willing to use the sell-on clause they had inserted into the deal that took Jadon Sancho to Dortmund as a £15million bargaining.
