Liverpool have reportedly made an opening offer for Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez
According to Spanish outlet Diario Sport , the Reds have made the first move with a bid of €40m (£34.5) plus two players.
The report claims that both Xherdan Shaqiri or Jordan Henderson could move the other way as makeweight to land the Spaniard this summer.
Shaqiri has struggled to nail down a spot in the Reds' starting line-up over the past couple of seasons, while Henderson's Liverpool future has been thrown into doubt after talks over a new deal with the club stalled.
