Gabriel Agbonlahor's verdict on who starts between Tsimikas and Robertson

Agbonlahor has urged Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to copy Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel in solving squad's left-back role challenges

The former Aston Villa striker believes there is no need to 'drop' Robertson indefinitely, but claimed that rotating the pair on a more consistent basis could prove beneficial.

Both Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel possess significant strength in depth in their respective sides, enabling both managers to heavily rotate if necessary and Agbonlahor wants Jurgen Klopp to follow their footsteps.

"I wouldn't drop Robertson. He's got major credit in the bank and has been outstanding for that football club," Agbonlahor told Football Insider .

He added: "Sometimes, it's squad rotation. If you see somebody is having a hard time, like Robertson, then maybe you can bring in Tsimikas.

"He doesn't have to be dropped, he can just be rested. I've got no problem with Robertson having a game off and a little breather because Tsimikas can do a job as well.

"We've seen at other teams like Man City and Chelsea. It's Ben Chilwell one week and Marcos Alonso plays the next week. It's a mixture of players playing."
