Jamie Carragher says 'Haaland too expensive' and prefers £80m rated teenager

Jamie Carragher has revealed the player he would 'love' Liverpool to sign to bolster their squad depth

Liverpool have been tentatively linked with a move for 18-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham, who played a full 90 minutes in Dortmund's 3-1 defeat to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday.

Jamie Carragher has revealed he would 'love to see' the Reds sign the England international.

A defeat to Portuguese top-tier leaguers in the Champions League on Tuesday dumped Borussia Dortmund into the Europa League and Carragher predicted it would be a 'knock-on effect' for the Reds transfer business.

The Liverpool legend told Impression Sessions: “[Dortmund] had no Haaland tonight, he was out, so maybe that’s the last time that we’re going to see Haaland in a Dortmund shirt, in terms of the Champions League, because he will not be happy, will he?"

"I just think what will the knock-on effect be on Jude Bellingham, as well? I don’t think Liverpool will be in the race for Haaland, to be honest, I think he’ll be too expensive. I'd love to see Liverpool get Jude Bellingham."
