Liverpool 2-0 Porto: Player ratings as Thiago impress

Liverpool player ratings after the 2-0 victory over Porto in the Champions League at Anfield

Alisson Becker 6

Distribution on point first half, if occasionally less so after the break.

Neco Williams 7

Struggled with positioning early on but began to show some signs of understanding with Salah and much better after break.

Joel Matip 6

Composed enough defensively and one header saved from corner. Wasn’t massively troubled in second half.

Ibrahima Konate 5

Appeared nervy and massively off the pace, if slightly more composed after break. Should have done better with free header at corner. Booked.

Kostas Tsimikas 6

Some moments of slack distribution and defending but did well to put off Otavio for Porto’s missed sitter with game goalless. Subbed.

Tyler Morton 7

Solicited cheers with a few good passes and wasn’t afraid to get stuck in when required. Didn’t look out of place in midfield. Good ball over top helped set up second goal.

Thiago Alcantara 8

Looked to get Liverpool moving with impressive passing range and absolute blistering strike for the opener. Another good outing. Subbed.

Jordan Henderson (for Thiago 63) 7

Set up the second for Salah and sent free-kick narrowly wide.

Andy Robertson (for Tsimikas 63) 7

One trademark lung-busting run was evidence of a man keen to impress.

Divock Origi (for Mane 71) 7

Lively cameo from the Belgian.

Fabinho (for Salah 71) 6

Kept things simple in midfield.

James Milner (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 82)

On long enough to pick up a booking that rules him out of the final group game at AC Milan. Canny.
