A song composed by Liverpool fans for Takumi Minamino was heard on the Kop during Saturday Premier  League win over Arsenal

A song for Takumi Minamino was heard on the Kop after he scored the fourth goal for Liverpool in their 4-0 thrashing of Arsenal on Saturday.

The 26-year-old came on for Diogo Jota in the 76th minutes and had an instant impact as he turned in a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross just seconds after coming on.

It's his first Premier League goal of the season, but his fourth of the campaign with three goals in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool supporters showed their appreciation on Saturday as his song re-emerged on the Kop after his goal.

In the tune of ABBA's 'Mamma Mia', the lyrics are as follows: "Minamino! Here we go again, why why Salzburg ever let you go."

A version of the tune was first sung by Liverpool fans in December 2019 shortly after his signing was announced - and before he'd even kicked a ball for the Reds.

Minutes have been hard to come by for Minamino since his arrival from RB Salzburg in January 2020.

The Japan international spent the second half of last season on loan with Premier League side Southampton and returned to Merseyside with a point to prove.

Despite the challenging start to life on Merseyside, Minamino may be handed more minutes over the coming month with Roberto Firmino still sidelined through injury and a hectic periods of football.

In January, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will also be missing for a while as they take part in the Africa Cup of Nations.

With Porto coming up in midweek, Minamino could be handed his first Champions League start of the season.
