'That'd be nice' - Henderson reacts to Mo Salah new Liverpool contract

Jordan Henderson is hopeful that Mohamed Salah will sign a new contract at Liverpool

Salah has been in fine form for Liverpool this season, scoring 27 times in 32 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp's side.

It is understood that negotiations are ongoing between the forward's representatives and the club, with Salah in the final two years of his current deal that was signed in 2018.

The Reds have extended the contracts of several players in recent months, but Salah is yet to put pen-to-paper on a new deal unlike many of his team-mates.

And Henderson told BT Sport’s Between The Lines :

"For me yeah, but I’ll be biased wont I. But for me he’s been phenomenal for a number of seasons. The numbers that he’s got – goals, assists.

"But even his general play, his work rate for the team, his leadership within the group, he’s an outstanding player and hopefully he can just keep going from strength to strength and help us to be more successful in the future."

Rio Ferdinand then offered a cheeky remark about Salah’s current contract situation, saying: "Any sign of that new deal?” To which Henderson: "That’d be nice."
