Owen believes Luis Diaz has already booked his place in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI for the Champions League final in Paris
Luis Diaz carved a heart shaped hand synonym to fans at Villarreal |
Luis Diaz came on from the bench to fire Liverpool to this season's Champions League final, scoring one and adding pace to an already disorganised side.
The former Porto man who joined Liverpool in January for a £45m fee has proved to be a blend in Jurgen Klopp's team and former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is blown away by the addition.
Also former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch joined Owen in analysing Diaz after the 3-2 win at Villarreal.
"He was fantastic," Crouch said. "The moment he came on he was getting at players. He was a complete game-changer.
"In the final, he starts. He's come in and invigorated the whole dressing room. I spoke to Jurgen Klopp about him and he says he enjoys his football every day."
Owen added to Crouch's judgement, stating: "I have never seen a player hit the ground running like him. Playing in different leagues, not speaking the language.
"To pick up the way Liverpool play so quickly is unbelievable. He's starting the final for sure."
