Aston Villa are ‘preparing’ to make a £30m offer for Joe Gomez, according to reports
Having returned from injury at the beginning of last season, Gomez made just eight Premier League appearances and only four starts to its conclusion.
The England international has struggled for regular game time at Anfield, and now the Daily Mirror is reporting that former Liverpool skipper and Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is aiming to prize him away from Merseyside as he looks to bolster his options in defence ahead of the new season.
The Daily Mirror says a 30million offer has been tabled by the Villans for the move.
The lure of first-team football will be of interest to Gomez, who is keen to add to his 11 England caps, the last of which came in October 2020.
