Ajax striker Mohamed Kudus has expressed his admiration for Thiago Alcantara and insists his game is based on the Liverpool midfielder.
The 22-year-old has been linked with the likes of a summer move to Everton and has since surged in value after a stellar start to the season, scoring nine goals in all competitions.
One of Kudus's finest performances of the season came at Anfield after the Ghanaian scored in his side's Champions League group defeat to Liverpool with a powerful shot past Alisson top of the net, which Jurgen Klopp himself described as 'excellent'.
Kudus explained to Ajax TV why he likes Thiago Alcantara: "I loved his game as a child. I like creativity and having fun playing. When I played in Denmark, a friend of mine arranged for a shirt from him. It was fantastic. The shirt is hanging at my home and I am very proud of it.
"Sometimes he plays as a 'six' but then, despite his defensive duties, he doesn't lose his creativity. No matter where he plays, he always finds the balance between defending and attacking. That's how I want to play," added Kudus on the Reds' No.6.
"As a kid, I was always given the ball to make moves. Even if I lost it ten times, I kept trying. No matter where I am, I still play with that same creativity and joy. It has shaped me into the player I am today. I want to score more and finish better."

Towards the end of the game, both Klopp and Mikel Arteta were approached by the referee as their tempers seemed to explode. When asked by Sky Sports' Jeff Schreeves if he would reveal what the official told him, Klopp bluntly replied: "No." When asked why he didn't elaborate, the German A statement was released: "Because I don't think I'm allowed."
On the penalty that led to the defeat, Klopp said:
"We should have sorted it before the penalty. We didn't do that. If it's a penalty, it's very, very soft. Mr England didn't think it was worth sending the referee to the screen, same in the first half with Diogo [Jota] on Gabriel. We can't change that anymore.
Klopp also confirmed a double injury blow on his side: "Two massive injury blows for us. Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Luis. Luis Diaz - something with the knee, not good."

The former Arsenal star-turned-Sky Sports pundit has listed his top five midfielders currently featured in the Premier League on his latest column. After choosing Manchester City's De Bruyne as his first choice, former England international Merson added Spain international Thiago as his second choice.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star joined Jurgen Klopp's team in September 2020 and has developed into one of the key players in the Reds' starting XI after a slow start with injuries.
Merson wrote on his column: “Thiago Alcantara is an unbelievable footballer, he’s a class act. When he doesn’t play, Liverpool are a completely and utterly different team and we’ve seen that a handful of times already this season. When he first joined, there was a lot of talk that he slowed Liverpool down a little, but after he adapted to the pace of the Premier League, there’s been no stopping him!
“I just like the way he plays and moves – he’s always looking forward and is more than comfortable with playing one-touch football when the situation calls for it. I like players who see things on the football pitch before they happen and he’s one of them, which is why I’m such a big fan of him.
“People might be a bit surprised with Thiago’s inclusion at #2, but this is how I see the game and I genuinely believe that this guy is a special player. We’re talking about a world-class player who makes such a huge difference to a team like Liverpool – we saw it first-hand against Ajax when he started the game and absolutely ran the show for his team. These lists are obviously very subjective and could change every week, but Thiago is a player I’ve always rated over the years.”

The 31-year-old has only played four games for Liverpool this season. One of these games was the Community Shield, However, he had to miss five games due to a hamstring problem that he suffered on the first day of the season against Fulham.
Thiago returned to action at the beginning of the month; he played just under half an hour in the 4-1 defeat away at Napoli last week and made his first start since the Fulham setback in the 2-1 winners over Ajax at Amsterdam.
The postponement of two of Liverpool's league games was caused by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last week. The two postponed games were a home fixture against Wolves last week, as well as a trip to face Chelsea this week.
Thiago has appeared for his country in over 40 games since he was first included in the lineup in 2011 at 20 years of age. However, he's had a limited role in recent years and has been called up to the squad on only one occasion since the Euros held last year.
While he continues to regain fitness, Thiago's removal from the squad recently caused a significant strain among a host of injury problems in the team. The Liverpool midfielder is expected to make a significant impact during an intense stretch of games in October and November and Getting rid of the player would be a major positive for Klopp and Liverpool for this reason.
Although it will come as a threat to the midfielder's World Cup ambitions, the FIFA biggest tournament which is just months away.
