How Manchester United influenced Nunez price increase

Liverpool have been forced to pay an £85m fee for Darwin Nunez after Benfica initially agreed a 25 percent cut

The Reds,  initially, have had an offer worth £63m accepted by Benfica. However, with interest for the player beginning to grow the Premiera Liga club needed to wait for the better offer.

Lfc Rumour reported that Nunez only wanted a move to Liverpool , but contrarily,  an offer of £67m was submitted by Manchester United which the Lisbon club were forced to turn down because of the player's interest.

Hence, Liverpool knew their offer did not match the Red Devils' bid so they have to up their offer certainly as Benfica demanded them to be above that region.

The Reds will have to pay £68m. There were also add-ons included on the initial 63million pounds , reaching around £17m.

Liverpool are expected to officially announce a conclusion of Nunez deal soon.
